Turning · Pressing · Hybrid parts — technology-neutral cost analysis
Your part. Three paths. The cheapest wins.
Most suppliers know only one method—and force your part to fit it. We approach every custom-engineered part with a technology-neutral mindset: whether as a turned part, a pressed part, or a hybrid part combining a pressed blank with precision machining.
Ideal: small series up to 20,000 pieces, complex geometries
Path B
As a pressed part
COLD FORMING UP TO 6 STAGES
+ Short cycle times, lowest unit costs
+ Little to no material waste
+ High strength due to work hardening
- Geometric limitations
- Tooling investment
Ideal: Series of 20,000 units or more, where geometry permits.
Path C
As a hybrid part
PRESSED BLANK + TARGETED MACHINING
+ Complex geometry + mass-production efficiency
+ Komplexe Geometrien
+ Only functional surfaces are machined
- Tooling investment
Ideal: Series of 40,000 units or more, combining the cost-efficiency of forming with the precision of CNC.
PATH A · CNC TURNED PART
The most expensive solution—but sometimes the only right one.
When a component is machined entirely from solid stock, there is significant material waste, and cycle times often reach several minutes per part.
Nevertheless, it is often indispensable: especially for highly complex geometries, the flexibility of machining becomes a distinct advantage—virtually any geometry is possible here.
PATH B · COLD FORMING
The most cost-effective path—and it is capable of much more today.
Cold forming is no longer just about pressing simple standard screws. Technology has advanced significantly: where only simple shapes were possible in the past, we now press diverse, sophisticated geometries within tight tolerance ranges.
PATH C · HYBRID PART
Pressed where possible. Machined where necessary.
The hybrid part combines the best of both worlds: we press the blank—quickly and efficiently—and then machine only the functional surfaces that require the highest precision.
This allows you to obtain complex, precise components at mass-production costs. For post-processing, we utilize automated feeding and robotic loading systems. The following operations are possible:
Precision components for companies that refuse to compromise on quality.
